General Info

1. Pricing: To qualify for early order discount, orders must be received before August 1, 2019. Orders must be complete, including artwork, personalization lists, etc. No exceptions.

2. Over-runs and Under-runs:Every order is a custom order and requires custom manufacturing. Payne reserves the right to ship 5% over/under of the quantity ordered. If exact quantity or no overs is required, there will be a 3% surcharge for this service.

3. Less Than Minimums: Orders with quantities less than minimums indicated on pricing charts are subject to a $53.75 (G) surcharge.

4. Imprinting:All product pricing includes one imprint on outside cover. Exact positioning of imprint must be in writing on order. If no position is specified, Payne reserves the right to position imprint. Standard positioning is front cover, bottom center.

  • Foil Colors: Standard foil colors are: gold, black, blue, red, cream, silver, white, yellow, purple, teal, brown and gray. Other colors and holographic foils available upon request.

  • Additional Color Imprinting:If a 2nd or 3rd color is required, an additional imprint charge of $.50 (G) for each color will be necessary. Each color will require a die charge per size of imprint.

5. Standard Titles/Headings: Each product cover has a descriptive heading and date. This can be eliminated on request at no extra charge except for the Classic Diaries.

6. Cover Codes: Please note that where applicable, the letters denote product; the first number following the letters denotes size and the second number denotes cover material/style. (Sample: WB-13 denotes Weekly Book, 3 1/2 x 6 1/2 with Continental Vinyl cover.) Codes beginning with an S are academic planners. (Sample: SWB-13 denotes Academic Weekly Book, 3 1/2 x 6 1/2 with Continental Vinyl cover.)

7. Personalizations: Individual names or initials may be imprinted on front covers of all items for a charge of $3.15 (G) per name. When the item is inserted in a gift box or mailer, a label will be required to indicate the name on the product inside. Unless this is supplied, we will charge $.40 (G) per label. Lists to be supplied in a word or excel document.

8. Proofs: A paper proof is recommended on all orders over 1000 pieces. If proof is required, please state this on purchase order. Paper proofs $10.00 (G) each. Virtual proofs $15.00 (G) each. Multiple proofs of customer changes $10.00 (G) each. Product proofs will be billed die charge, plus the cost of the product. Proof approval must be in writing. All customer changes will be billed accordingly. Please ask for a quote. After October 1st, if it is essential to have a product proof, there will be a $95.50 (G) set up charge, plus the cost of the product, billed accordingly. Please ask for a quote. Please proof carefully. A signed proof approval must be received before final production can begin!!!

9. Samples: Random samples are no charge. Blank samples are billed EQP. Spec samples are free with die charges billed accordingly. All freight charges are the responsibility of the customer.


11. Complete Custom Editions: We are capable of incorporating many custom features not available in our standard product line. All orders for totally custom products must be submitted by September 1st together with complete press ready artwork. Quotations upon request.

12. No Imprint Allowance: All products can be purchased without imprint. End column pricing will apply.

13. Normal Production Time:

  1. Stock - assorted colors - no imprint - 5 days; specified colors - no imprint - 2 weeks
  2. Foil stamping - 4 weeks from date of receipt of signed purchase order and completed order & artwork approval.
  3. 10 working day production available on select products with no options. Call customer service for details.
  4. Insert pages - 5 weeks from approval of artwork.
  5. Phantom/Date Block Overprinting - 6 weeks from approval of artwork.
  6. Complete custom orders: Production time 5-7 weeks.

The above dates are estimated AFTER PROOF APPROVAL. Rush orders are possible.

14. Rush Orders: Any orders requested for under our normal production time can usually be handled on a special basis. minimum $115.00 (G) surcharge is made in these cases; the actual charge depends on size and complexity of order and time of year. Customer must pay Air Freight on all rush orders.

NO RUSH ORDERS AFTER October 1, 2019.

All costs incurred prior to cancellation will be billed.

16. Drop Shipments: Drop shipments are charged an extra $7.50 (G) per shipment except 1st shipment.

17 Packaging: All products are shipped bulk unless otherwise specified. Gift boxes and mailers are available at additional cost.

18. Shipping: All orders are normally shipped via UPS or common carrier and are prepaid. Prices given are FOB Manassas, Virginia. Any time inside delivery is necessary on common carrier shipments, all charges are the responsibility of the customer. Shipments with a weight exceeding 500 lbs. are generally shipped via common carrier.
